Srinagar, Jul 25 (KNS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived here on Saturday on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir during which he is expected to review the overall security situation and operational readiness in the Union Territory, official sources said.
Official sources informed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) Rajnath Singh was received at the Srinagar airport by LG Sinha besides senior officials of the civil administration, police, and the Army.

The Defence Minister is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with top army commanders and security officials to assess the prevailing security grid, border management, and the progress of counter-terrorism operations, the sources added.
The visit comes at a time when security forces remain on high alert in the region following the killing of policeman earlier this week In South Kashmir's Ananthnag district. (KNS)
