Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Approves Establishment of Four New NCC Units in JK and Ladakh

Srinagar, Jan 08 (KNS):In a significant move aimed at bolstering the National Cadet Corps (NCC) presence in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has given the green light to a proposal for the establishment of four new NCC Units.
 
The approved plan is strategically designed to create additional NCC units in regions of strategic importance, aligning with the government's vision to actively engage young minds in activities that foster leadership, discipline, and national service.
 
According to news agency KNS, the decision reflects the government's commitment to nurturing youth development and channelizing the potential of the region's youth towards nation-building.
 
The Defence Ministry stated, “The decision is poised to create more avenues for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to actively participate in the NCC, contributing to their holistic development. The NCC, with its focus on character building, leadership, and social responsibility, has proven to be a transformative force in the lives of countless young individuals across the country.”
 
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the pivotal role played by the NCC in shaping the future leaders of the nation, emphasizing that expanding its presence in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh is a strategic move to empower youth with skills, values, and a sense of responsibility.
 
“The initiative is expected to create a positive impact on the youth in the region, offering them a platform to engage in community service, adventure activities, and skill development programs. It also aligns with the government's efforts to promote a sense of national pride and unity among the youth,” he added.
 
The establishment of these new NCC units in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh is anticipated to provide a unique opportunity for young cadets to imbibe the values of teamwork, leadership, and patriotism.
 
As these units come into operation, they are set to contribute significantly to the social fabric of these Union Territories and further strengthen the NCC's role in shaping the future leaders of the nation.(KNS)
