DDC Pulwama issues directions for time bound completion of Tral Lift Irrigation Scheme

Pulwama 25 June 2020:(KNS) While having an On- spot review of Tral Lift Irrigation Scheme , District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langer DDC issued a realistic timeline for completion of pending stages of Tral Lift Irrigation scheme and directed the concerned officers to achieve the targets in a time bound manner so that the project is made fully operational by the the end of September 2020.
DDC directed that the 3 remaining pumps of stage 3rd shall be completed by 30 June 2020 whereas the allied accessories of stage 3rdshall be delivered by 30 June 2020 so that all the 4 pumps shall be commissioned by 20 July 2020.
As far as rising mains is concerned, it was also directed that the 2nd line of stage 3rd shall be completed by 24 june 2020, and shall be commissioned by 20 july 2020 after testing. In the stage 3rd , remaining 495 mts of the rising mains shall be completed by 20 July 2020 and hence shall be commissioned by 30 july 2020 after testing. It was also directed that the electric substations shall be completed by 20 July 2020.
Regarding the canal network, in the stage III, In- progress 2.634 km shall be completed by 20 August 2020 and the remaining 2.651 km shall be completed by 30 September 2020, subject to early settlement of land compensation.
Regarding the issues requiring resolution, DDC was informed that land compensation claims worth 1.47 crore was pending for disbursement at treasury level. Furthermore an amount of 0.32 crore is urgently required to clear pending land compensation claims.
DDC instantly directed the Collector Land Acquisition , Irrigation and Flood Control to settle the disbursement of payment issue at an earliest. Menwhile ADC Tral was also directed to resolve any land compensation issue without any fail.

On the occasion, DDC was breifed that the scheme is a three-staged lift irrigation project and is being implemented at a cost of ? 170.50 Crore under AIBP-PMKSY having an irrigation potential of 4818 hectare. It was intimated that 87% potential stands created ending 3/2020. Stage I & Stage II (partly) of the scheme were commissioned in 8/2014. Since Kharif 2015, irrigation facility is being provided in command area of 7 villages in Stage II.
During the breifing , DDC was apprised that since July 2019, 5% progress has been achieved with overall progress of scheme at 74% as on date whereas a length of 1185m of rising mains and 124m of canal has been completed.

It was informed that 04 no of pumps were installed at Stage III pump house whereas Motors have also been delivered. It was also said that work on 30m length of rising main of Stage II, 585m length in Stage III rising main and an aggregate length of 2.634 km in Stage III canal is in progress.
Further, it was given out that the cumulative expenditure of the scheme ending 3/2020 is ? 141.2996 Crore and budget outlay for the scheme for the current fiscal is ? 17.1108 Crore.
The DDC was accompanied by ADC Tral,Exen Irrigation and Flood Control, Tehsildar Tral and other concerned.(KNS)
