DC Kupwara reviews progress for procurement, installation of solar lights

 

 

KUPWARA, JUNE 21 (KNS): The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress for procurement and installation of Solar lights in the district.

Addressing the meeting, the DDC directed the concerned officers to make the required solar lights available within 5 days so that these can be installed at the identified locations in the district.

He also directed the concerned officers for submission of location wise details of the solar lights installed in the district within 10 days to his office.

Regarding dysfunctional solar lights, the DDC directed the Science & Technology department to make the lights functional within 15 days. He also directed them to keep their service team available at Kupwara headquarters for timely maintenance of solar lights.

The DDC also directed for verification of the solar lights by a team which will be headed by ADDC Kupwara.

The meeting also discussed the current financial year’s plan for procurement and installation of solar lights under Area Development Fund.

Earlier, it was informed in the meeting that out of 6000 lights approved, 4500 have already been procured and installed at identified spots across the district.
