DC flags off Covid Awareness Rally in Bandipora

Bandipora, August 05 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday flagged off a Covid Awareness Rally led by Block medical officer (BMO) at District Hospital Bandipora. 

An official said that the rally was attended by students of AMT School Bandipora, Block medical officer Bandipora(BMO), Dr Masrat Iqbal and other health volunteers. 

He said that the rally started from DH Bandipora and culminated at Gulshan Chowk Bandipora. The aim of holding the rally was to create awareness about the importance of taking precautionary measures against COVID-19.

 The official said that the students while marching through different  markets were carrying placards with slogans inscribed on it asking people to take precautionary measures to fight the pandemic.

He said that the rally was aimed to spread awareness about the Covid management and adherence to appropriate behavior among the masses. 

Enroute the participants also distributed masks among the people who were not wearing masks and appealed them to wear masks in public places.

Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Bandipora said the Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) and SOPs are vital to prevent any spike in infections and cautioned against any complacency on part of the stakeholders so that the virus is kept at bay and its spread is curtailed further.

He appealed to the people not to lower guard and asked them to follow guidelines so that administration is not forced to take action against violators. He said the general public can report the violation of SOPs to the controlled rooms so that action can be taken against violators. (KNS).
