Reiterates his appeal to parents not to allow their wards to venture around Nallahs, Ponds, Irrigation Storage Tanks

 Kupwara, July 12 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir has expressed his grief and sorrow over death of a youth due to drowning in Kupwara district.

Notably, a youth namely Aqib Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Ishaq Dar of Bhat Mohallah Wani Dorusa died due to drowning in irrigation canal.

An official said that the rescue operation was supervised by SDM Lolab, in which teams of Revenue, Irrigation & Flood Control departments and SDRF, police, Army, Fire & Emergecy service made all possible efforts to fish out the body.

DC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir appreciated the role of officers and officials with whose tireless efforts the body was fished out.

He also thanked MARCOS who had reached to the spot from Watlab Bandipora to assist the rescue operation, though the body was fished out before the team reached.

He also appreciated the efforts of local RR Unit.

Meanwhile, DC Kupwara reiterated his appeal to parents not to allow their wards to venture around Nallahs, Ponds, Irrigation Storage Tanks and waterbodies. (KNS)
