Dawaran Uri boycotts B2V-3, appeals LG, DC to address demands put forth during B2V-2

Srinagar, Oct 02 (KNS): Residents of Dawaran Uri of north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Friday boycotted to participate in B2V-3 and said till their earlier demands put forth during B2V-2 are not addressed, they will not allow administration to organize such programs in the area.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), locals of Dawaran Uri assembled in front of Beacon Uri office and registered their protest against their unaddressed demands put forth during B2V-2.
Locals told KNS that demands put forth by locals before officials during B2V-2 were not addressed so far which forced them to boycott the B2V-3. They said local residents during B2V-2 appealed authorities to shift the crusher plant of Beacon Uri to some other place as it has proven health and environmental hazardous.
Sarpanch Rashida Begum told KNS that they will not allow B2V-3 till their earlier demands are not addressed. She said during B2V-2 locals took up the issue of 53 RCC Beacon crusher plant with the officials and appealed them to shift the plant to somewhere else so that increasing health concerns in the area could be controlled.
She said minors and elders are badly suffering from multiple ailments as the crusher plant spreads dust and smoke in the area which causes acute problem to those having respiratory disorder.
Former Sarpanch Abdul Ahad Mangral also raked up the same issue and appealed authorities to take care of health concerns of local population instead of ignoring their demands.
At the occasion, locals chanted slogans for shifting of crusher plant and appealed authorities to take concrete steps for safeguarding the lives of people in the area.
They appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla GN Ittoo to intervene into the matter and address the demands put forth by locals during B2V-2. (KNS)
