Jammu, August 7 (KNS) : As part of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) Project, the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Dinesh Chand Deshwal, conducted a comprehensive safety inspection of the Katra–Srinagar rail section on Friday, marking another significant milestone towards the commencement of passenger train services on the route.

During the inspection, the Chief Administrative Officer and Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Jammu, Shri Vivek Kumar, along with other senior railway officials, accompanied the CRS throughout the inspection.

The inspection covered the entire stretch from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar, with detailed examination of the railway line, tunnels, bridges, stations and other critical safety infrastructure. The inspection team also reviewed rail operational safety, passenger amenities, signalling systems and emergency management arrangements to ensure the section is fully prepared for safe passenger operations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Expressing satisfaction over the quality of construction and safety standards maintained on this strategically important rail corridor, the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety directed officials to continue giving the highest priority to passenger safety and comfort.

Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar, said, "The Railway administration will take the suggestions given by the CRS seriously and is committed to removing all deficiencies within the stipulated time frame and starting passenger services."

The inspection reflects the Railways' continued focus on ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational readiness before the commencement of services on the landmark Katra–Srinagar section, which forms a vital part of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link Project.

Senior officials of the Jammu Division, project officers and members of the technical team were also present during the inspection.(KNS)
