Crime Branch Jammu files chargesheet against 4 in fake job racket case

Jammu, Sep 18 (KNS): The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Jammu chargesheeted 04 accused involved in fake employment racket and defrauding gullible unemployed youth of their of Rs 41.90 lakh after they were enticed by the fraudsters with the promise of arranging them government jobs. 

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that the chargesheet was filed in case FIR No. 09/ 2014 U/S 420,465,467,468,471,120-B/RPC P/S Abdul Rashid Pandit, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, Mohd Ayub Mellu and Mohd Azam Mellu.

The statement reads that the case was registered in Crime Branch Jammu on the basis of a written complaint by complainant (now one of the accused) Mohammad Ayub Melu, wherein he alleged that he along with other persons of Poonch met the accused persons who posed themselves as respectable and influential people enticed him that some candidates were required in various departments for Class-IV posts.

It reads that after the payment, it was found that the accused persons were nothing but cheaters who had duped the complainant and other similar persons of their hard earned money. 

“As per procedure in vogue, a preliminary verification was initiated and the allegations were prima-facie established and subsequently, the instant case was registered for in-depth investigation. Relevant record was seized, statement of witnesses were recorded.”

It added that scientific and other material evidences were gathered and offences of cheating and duping 53 unemployed youth of Rs. 41.90 lakh was established against 4 accused. 

“Further investigation to get more leads for thoroughly busting this deeply rooted employment racket is going on,” it reads. (KNS)
