Anantnag, April 15 (KNS): In a significant development, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has announced its support to the National Conference candidate for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency.

In press conference, CPI(M)‘s J&K secretary Ghulam Nabi Malik said that there is need for solidarity among secular parties in the face of rising communal tensions.

He highlighted the dwindling influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party in rural areas, signaling a shift in the political landscape. He urged all secular forces to join hands in a collective effort to safeguard the values of inclusivity, diversity, and communal harmony.

"The time has come for all the secular forces to unite against the communal forces for the brightest future of the country," he said.

He said that the party’s support to the NC candidate underscores its dedication to fostering a political environment based on inclusivity, social justice, and equality.

“As the electoral landscape evolves, CPIM remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguard the interests of the marginalised and advocating for policies that prioritise the welfare and empowerment of all sections of society,” he said. (KNS)
