New Delhi, Jul 25 (KNS): The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Saturday congratulated students and youth across the country for their protests demanding accountability over alleged examination paper leaks, and called for the dismantling of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the scrapping of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.

In a statement, the CPI(M) Polit Bureau said the students' movement had compelled the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, describing it as a victory achieved through the determination and sacrifices of young people.

The party alleged that repeated paper leaks had led to the suicides of 22 students and said the protesters remained steadfast despite facing "lathis and other repressive measures" by the administration under the Union government's directions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Welcoming Pradhan's resignation, the CPI(M) said it should be followed by the disbanding of the NTA, which it held primarily responsible for repeated examination paper leaks.

The Left party also reiterated its demand for decentralisation of examinations and called for the withdrawal of the NEP, 2020, alleging that it promotes commercialisation, centralisation and communalisation.

Unless these measures are implemented, the cycle of paper leaks and deprivation would continue, the party said, expressing hope that student and youth movements would continue their campaign on these issues affecting their future.(KNS).
