Coordinated security grid to be in place for Amarnath Yatra: IG BSF

Srinagar, June 03(KNS): The Inspector General of BSF Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav, on Saturday said that a coordinated security response grid would be implemented to ensure a safe and incident-free Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage this year.

He also said that the Border Security Force (BSF), along with other security agencies, would be committed to preventing any possible infiltration attempts.

Speaking at a walkathon event organized by the BSF from Nishat to Tulip Garden, Yadav stated that the BSF had made preparations in line with the requirements set by the UT administration and the police to facilitate a peaceful and smooth pilgrimage. He also said that BSF personnel would be strategically deployed at key locations along the cave route to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.

"Quick response teams would also be stationed along the route to address any natural disasters that may occur. The annual Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to commence on July 1," he said.

Regarding the situation along the Line of Control (LoC), Yadav said that historical data indicated that as the snow melted, traditional infiltration routes would open up, potentially facilitating the entry of infiltrators. He assured that the BSF, in collaboration with the army, would maintain strict vigilance to prevent any unauthorized crossings into Indian territory. The BSF would analyze vulnerable routes and devise deployment plans accordingly.

Yadav further said that the BSF was fully prepared to handle any situation and combat terrorism and narco-terrorism effectively. He expressed confidence in the high morale of the BSF personnel, emphasizing their readiness to tackle any challenges.(KNS)
