Srinagar, June 07 (KNS): Awantipora Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a cheater from Khrew area of Awantipora in south kashmir.
The police have identified as conman as Rafiq Ahmad Badam Son of Abdul Rashid Resident of Wuyan Khrew who has collected Rs 40,000/= fraudulently from a complainant of getting his son released from Police Station Khrew.
A police statement said on Sunday morning Police Station Khrew received a complaint that one conman namely Rafiq Ahmad Badam Son of Abdul Rashid Resident of Wuyan has taken Rs 40,000/= (Forty Thousand Only) from the complainant namely Ghulam Nabi Bhat Resident of Sharshali Khrew for getting his son released from Police Station Khrew, who was called by Police in connection with investigation of case FIR No 56/2019 U/S 341 436 RPC of P/S Khrew for questioning purpose.
It is pertinent to mention here that the son of complainant namely Mohammad Younis Bhat S/o Ghulam Nabi Bhat R/o Sharshali Khrew was released by Police Station Khrew immediately after questioning, however, the arrested cheater managed to take Rs 40,000/= (Forty thousand only) by making an impression that he needs it for Police Station Khrew. To this affect Case FIR No. 30/2020 U/S 420 IPC stands registered at Police Station Khrew.
Rupees 40,000/= have been recovered from the arrested person and shall be released in favour of the complainant during the course of investigation. The statement said (KNS)
