Srinagar, Jul 16 (KNS): Senior Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir said his party will participate in the National Conference's proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood, asserting that the issue concerns the people of the region and not any single political party.
Speaking to KNS in Anantnag district, Mir said the Congress would support every initiative aimed at restoring the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Our party president Mallikarjun Kharge has repeatedly said that the rights and powers of the people of Jammu and Kashmir must be restored. Last year, we launched the campaign 'Our State, Our Right', which is still continuing," Mir said.
Referring to the National Conference's proposed protest in Delhi, he said, "The National Conference has called for a protest at Jantar Mantar.

Mir said the Congress would extend support "at every step" if it benefited the people of the Union Territory.
The Congress leader also reiterated his party's commitment to the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood and constitutional rights, saying these issues remain central to its political agenda. He expressed hope that the people of the country would bring about political change in the coming years through democratic means.
