Srinagar May 29, (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has drawn the attention of the Govt to the complications confronting people on account of financial severities since august 5 2019.
The Party also hailed Congress President for advocating grant of financial assistance to people and labourers in the country.
In a statement issued to KNS, Senior Congress Leader & Ex. MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani has expressed anguish over the complications confronting people on account of interest loans availed by them from different banks and financial institutions, saying that they are not able to pay the interest due to the financial severities that has started haunting them since August 2019, besides the current lockdown has added miseries leaving people in a chaotic situation.
People are not able to pay their EMIs, how can they bear the interest amount slapped on them, Gulzar Ahmad Wani questioned and urged the Govt to pass on directions to Banks and other financial institutions to wave off the interest on the loans availed against cars, business establishment, small scale units, shops etc to ensure respite to customers.
The current lockdown has further worsened the financial condition of the people in Anantnag and elsewhere in J&K especially in Kashmir, they are not even able to make their both ends meet, so the process of waving off interest amount against the loans of whatever nature be initiated, at right earnest, Wani said.
Senior Congress Leaders also urged the Govt to wave off the electric and water fees, as that, the poor and labour section have not even earned single penny during the current lockdown , so it is impossible for them to pay the electricity, Water fees.
Wani also hailed Sonia Gandhi for advocating financial assistance for the poor and Labour class in the country, describing it as highly appreciable and said Centre Govt must implement the advice of Congress present both in letter and spirit inorder to ensure that poor people and Labourerers get benefitted besides, they are not forced to face further starvation during the current lockdown,
Adding that poor people especially have suffered enormously due to the Pandemic, Wani urged the Centre to ensure free ration to poor people.(KNS)
