Srinagar July 4:(KNS)    The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Sunday held a meeting of Party District Presidents to discuss the current socio political scenario obtaining in Jammu and Kashmir.

Many issues of public importance also came under discussion in the meeting.

JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir presided over the meeting, in which, threadbare discussion were held over the socio-political scenario obtaining in J&K and expressed serious concern over the hardships confronting people on various fronts due to the wrong policies adopted by the Centre towards J&K.

Rising unemployment, losses caused to economy, lack of employment policy for educated unemployed youth were discussed in the meeting, terming these as a matter of grave concern and source behind disillusionment amongst the youth in J&K, the meeting observed

The DCC Presidents meeting also expressed serious concern over the absence of popular Govt in J&K, stating that there is a huge disconnect to be seen between the people and the administration, which is also responsible for the restlessness amongst the masses in J&K.

Addressing the meeting JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir said Congress Party feels duty bound to fight for restoring people’s rights, who have witnessed ugliest situation due to the certain unexpected decisions taken by the Centre, which has pushed the people of J&K to wall in every respect.

Congress as a responsible and constructive opposition will continue to raise the voice against any kind of disparity or injustice with any section of the people living in J&K, Mir added and urged the party district presidents to continue to serve people, for the fact, serving  people equally is the legacy of the party and the party will continue to follow that legacy.

District Presidents who were present in the meeting included Gulzar Ahmad Wai, Imtiyaz Parray, Abdul Gani Khan, Zahid Hussain Jan, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Umer Jaan, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Sahil Farooq, Dr. Ayoub Mattoo and others.

On this occasion Senior BJP Dr. Aneesa Gul joined Congress party and pledged to work for the people of her area. JKPCC President and other leaders welcome her into Congress Party.

Dr. Aneesa Gul termed Congress as the people's party and said joining it is like coming back to home.

On this occasion Mahila Congress Vice President Shameema Raina was also present.(KNS)
