Srinagar, March 23:(KNS) Senior vice president People’s Conference (PC) and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil Tuesday slammed the administration for failing to complete construction of Hachaypora, Dobgah Seer Bridge and Mazbug bridges in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Vakil on his two day tour to north Kashmir on Tuesday visited several areas of Rafiabad including Reban, Chatloora, Ladoora, Hachaypora, Doubgah and Janbazpora, and other adjoining villages where people complained about lack of basic facilities.
He also expressed concern about the construction of Hachaypora, Power receiving station, Dobgah Seer Bridge and Mazbug bridges are still under construction for the past several years and nothing has been done so far on the ground and people suffer.
Vakil urged government to resume work on said projects and complete the construction on a war footing basis so that people have a sigh of relief .The work was stopped without any concrete reason, which is unfortunate,” he said.
He also expressed concern for cutting off water supply in these said villages for entering into the agreement. People are ready for agreement but they demand filtered water. One the one side, the administration is celebrating water day, while people are denied basic facilities to drink filtered water.
Apart from these issues, there are dozens of other issues which need to be addressed; the roads in these villages are in dilapidated conditions. Power Development Department is not following any summer schedule for the electricity. There is complete mismanagement at the ground level, he said.
The senior leader said urged authorities to macadamise the roads on priority and fix a proper timetable for the electricity so that people will not suffer in the holy month of Ramzan.
Vakil was accompanied by senior leaders of block Mr. Bashir Ahmad Sumji, Tariq Ahmad Mir, Ghulam Mohammad Shugoo, Khazir Mohammad Dar and Sardar Diljeet Singh.(KNS)
