Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday condemned the killing of two labourers in Kulgam district and announced an ex-gratia of ?10 lakh each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) for their next of kin.
The chief minister described the killings as "dastardly" and expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent lives.
He said the financial assistance from the CMRF would be in addition to the immediate relief of ?6 lakh being provided by the district administration to the families of the deceased.
Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to the affected families, the chief minister said the administration stands firmly with them during this difficult time.
Two non-local labourers were killed after terrorists opened fire on them in the Kulgam district on Thursday evening. The victims were identified as Deepak and Bhupender Kumar, both residents of Chhattisgarh.(KNS).
