Choudary Zulfkar demands representation to ST's in the newly constituted commission for socially educationally backward classes

Srinagar, April 19 (KNS): The UT Government of Jammu and Kashmir has recently constituted a commission for the wellfare of socially educationally backward classes with t
o look into the issues of these classes including SCs and STs in UT headed by a retired HC judge the commission was further assigned the task to determine the criteria to be adopted in considering any section of the people in J&K as socially and educationally backward classes wide GO 2230 JK (LD) of 2020 dated 19.30.20 interila the Following terms and condition are mentioned in that GOI to determine the criteria to be adopted for considering any section of the people in the UT socially and educationally backward.

To examine the current list of socially and educationally backward classes to inclusion or exclusion of any class.
Examine the inclusion of other classes as socially and educationally backward.
Additionally , commission is also assigned the task to examine the SC order 1956 and ST order of 1989 make recommendation include or exclude or modification of the aforesaid for the application to the J&K UT
Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said he surprised that no member from ST community has been included in the commission to protect and look after the interest of STs in the commission.
He also urged upon the LG GC Murmu to kindly consider to appoint one member from ST community in the commission. How the justice can be done if a section which is already declared ST remains unrepresented and unheard zulfkar expressed hope PMO will intervene and rectify the error.(KNS)
