Centre sets up tribunal to adjudicate ban on Muslim Conference factions

Srinagar, Mar 18 (KNS): The Centre has constituted a tribunal consisting of Delhi high court judge to adjudicate ban on two factions of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with KNS, the tribunal, constituted under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, will consist of justice Neena Bansal Krishna of Delhi high court.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs had banned both factions of the Muslim Conference headed by Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat and Sumji respectively on February 28 under UAPA for 5 years.

Now the Centre has constituted the tribunal for the purpose of adjudicating whether or not there is sufficient cause for declaring both factions as an unlawful association. (KNS)
