Srinagar, July 28 (KNS): In a significant development aimed at bolstering the economic landscape of the Union Territory, a high-level delegation of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashmir (CCIK), led by its President Tariq Ghani, called on Amitava Chatterjee, Managing Director & CEO of J&K Bank, at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters here today.
The delegation, which included Vice President M.M. Hussain, Secretary General Shah Adnan, Joint Secretary Atif Khan, and Convener Umar Jan Wani, held exhaustive deliberations with the Bank’s top brass, including Executive Director Sudhir Gupta and several Chief General Managers.
During the course of the meeting, the CCIK leadership raised a host of vital issues concerning the trade and industrial sectors. Key demands included improved credit access for MSMEs, expeditious processing of loan proposals, enhanced customer service, and robust digital banking support. In a major appeal, the Chamber urged the Bank to introduce a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for NPA accounts with a stipulated time period of one year, a move aimed at providing much-needed relief to distressed borrowers.
The delegation underscored the imperative need for synergy between the banking sector and the business fraternity to foster entrepreneurship and industrial development in the region.

Responding to the concerns, the J&K Bank management gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation of a sympathetic examination of all genuine issues. Mr. Amitava Chatterjee reaffirmed the Bank’s unwavering commitment to the business community, stating that J&K Bank remains fully prepared to extend all possible support to facilitate Ease of Doing Business. He reiterated the Bank’s dedication to its longstanding relationship with the trade and industry fraternity.
