Big economic packages matter only when common man receives succour: Muzafar Shah

Srinagar, May 16 (KNS): Taking a dig at the centre, Awami National Conference Senior Vice President Muzafar Shah today said implementing ‘much-hyped packages” should provide relief to a common man.

“Otherwise big packages are no use to the common man. The benefits of packages Govt talks about mean nothing to a common man unless he is provided food,” he said.

He added that treatment of patients should be the first priority of the Government.

“Those 20 lakh people who are stranded in various places have been left on their own, where is the package for them.”

“They should get money. They should immediately receive relief package. Relief packages were announced by western countries also and every family received cheques immediately. That is called economic package. Same should happen here also,” ANC leader added.

He also demanded that people in green zones should be allowed to carry on their daily activities.

“People cannot live in lockdown forever. If some area has been declared red zone, Keep it under strict watch, but leave people of green zones to move freely.”

ANC leader also asked the Govt to augment the health infrastructure and facilities in case there is a spike in cases.

“Govt should have to work on how to stop that situation to happen, “he said.

Muzafar Shah also demanded to facilitate the travel of family of senior journalist Muhammad Shafi Semnani and other Kashmiris from Gurgaon (KNS)
