Beacon rescues skidded off mini-bus on Baramulla-Uri highway

Baramulla, Jan 23 (KNS): Beacon task force of 53 RCC on Saturday rescued a mini-bus along with passengers after the bus skidded off the road due to the slippery conditions on Srinagar-Uri highway near Khanpora.

Witnesses told KNS that a mini-bus ferrying passengers from Baramulla to Sheeri got stuck after skidding off the highway near Khanpora, however authorities of BEACON 53 RCC immediately responded and launched a rescue operation.

“Men and machinery were pressed in by Beacon to rescue our mini bus and passengers safely,” said Shakeel Ahmed, Chairman Mini Bus Association Baramulla. He said the mini-bus was full of passengers and got stuck in heavy snowfall and skidded off the road.

"WSC team of 53 RCC, Project Beacon on being informed mobilised its resources and carried out the rescue operation,” a Beacon official said.

Meanwhile people of the area hailed the BEACON officials for their prompt response. (KNS)
