Srinagar October 28 (KNS) : Prominent social and political activist Basit Hayat Zargar has hailed Srinagar Police for action against drug abuse in Srinagar city and urged police to curb the menace in society.
Basit Hayat Zargar also hailed Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Rakesh Balwal ( IPS )for his friendly policing in the city.
Basit Hayat Zargar said “SSP Srinagar in particular has done a commendable job against the drug abuse. Police should further tighten the noose against drug peddlers to put an end to the abuse,” Zargar said in a statement.
“Under the leadership of SSP Srinagar, many drug peddlers including the notorious criminals have been put behind the bars and the crack down on notorious thieves is appreciable.
Since the Rakesh Balwal took over as SSP Srinagar, everyone is feeling safe and secure in the city. I appreciate the efforts of Jammu Kashmir Police.
“I urge police to intensify crackdown against drug abuse so that this social ill is eradicated from society,” Basit Zargar added.
Zargar also urged people of Srinagar to cooperate with Police to ensure drug free society.(KNS)
