Baramulla March 30 (KNS): Former minister and senior politician Syed Basharat Bukhari has urged government to install a bridge over Fresthar Nallah at Sheikhpora so that students are able to reach school.
In a statement issued to KNS, the former MLA of the constituency said that students need to cover over the Nallah to reach local higher secondary however, in the absence of a bridge, they are not able to make it, particularly in the rainy season when water discharge is high. He regretted that the School had to be closed today as students could not cross the Nallah as the makeshift culvert collapsed due to intense water flow .
He further added that the DPR for the said bridge stands already approved and even Token Money or Twenty Lakh rupees have also been released yet the work was not initiated on the site. Mr. Bukhari demanded that the administration should act swiftly and start the work on the project besides making immediate temporary arrangements so that students do not suffer any more.(KNS)
