Srinagar, September 04 (KNS): An army major was injured in an ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in Yadipora area of Pattan, Baramulla.

Reports reaching to KNS said that an army major of 29RR got injured in the gunfight.

An official while confirming the injuries of Army major said he has been taken to 92 base hospital for treatment.

Earlier an official said joint team of 29 RR of army, CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police jointly the CASO in the area following the inputs of presence of militants in the area.

He also said as the joint team of security forces reached the suspectsed the hiding militants fire upon the security forces triggering the encounter.

When this report was filled the gunfight in the area was going on.
