Army organises Teetwal Day inter village cricket tourney

Srinagar Mar 16, (KNS): Teetwal day inter village cricket tournament, organized by the Shakti Vijay Brigade, was inaugurated at shan-e- Teetwal Stadium on Monday.
According to Kashmir news service correspondent (KNS) the aim of the tournament is to encourage sportsman spirit amongst youth of Karnah.
The event was inaugurated by Commandant officer 17 Bihar unit by welcoming all the participants, total number of 32 teams will be participating in the tournament which will be played on knockout basis.
the inaugural match was played between Bhadarkot and Dringla, the crowd entered into the spirit of occasion in a grand way and the air was filled with cheers of encouragement for the young players.
In a keenly contested match, Bhadarkot defeated Dringla by two wickets.The prizes for the winners will be given away during Tithwal Day Celebrations on 23 May 2020. This annual event is celebrated by the locals to commemorate the retreat of Pak Razakars on 23 May 1948. It re-invigorates the ever building bond between the Awam and the Army in this region which lies bang along the line of control.
The final match will be played on 13 April 2020. (KNS).
