Budgam, Aug 28 (KNS): The Army organised a medical camp in the remote Nilnag village of Budgam district on Friday, providing free healthcare and medicines to residents of the mountainous area, officials said.
The outreach programme was organised by Army Camp Nagam to extend medical services to people living in isolated and difficult-to-reach areas.
Medical teams examined residents, including elderly people, women and children, and provided medicines free of cost, they said.
For many residents, particularly the elderly and young mothers, the camp provided an opportunity to consult doctors without having to undertake long journeys over rugged terrain and difficult mountain roads.

The Army personnel also conducted awareness sessions for schoolchildren on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic hygiene practices.
The initiative was aimed at improving access to healthcare and strengthening community outreach in remote areas, officials said.
Residents appreciated the initiative and said such camps were particularly beneficial for people who face difficulties in accessing medical facilities due to the terrain and limited transport connectivity.(KNS).
