Army organises Inter village cricket tournament in Mawer

Handwara, Oct 22 (KNS): The game of cricket never fails to bring close countries, cultures, men. Yet again it has brought joy and enthusiasm a midst the valley of Mawer, which witnessed a series of spectacular set of matches among 4 teams of local villages of Naugam, Lawoosa, Reshwari, and Puthwari. With Indian Army as the organizing body of the tournament the event served as a benchmark for strengthening the bonds between Kashmiri awaam and IA. 

The unparalleled zeal and energy of the teams not just lifted the essence of the tournament but served as a driving force for the olive greens to come up with many such events in near future. The final match being payed between Lawoosa and Puthwari village came out to be a nerve wrecking match with Lawoosa emerging as the ultimate winners.

The teams and players were felicitated after the tournament. With immense ardour and passion for the game the youngster of Mawar look forward for a multitude of such events in the valley in coming days. (KNS)
