Srinagar, May 02 (KNS): An army soldier got killed while another injured in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday after a grenade went off accidentally and exploded inside the camp.
Confirming the mishap Station House Officer (SHO) Karnah told KNS that during a military drill in Jal Post of Karnah sector, a grenade being carried by a soldier exploded accidently resulting the injuries to two army personnel.
He said soon after the mishap, both army men were evacuated and rushed to military hospital for treatment where Nk. Jigender Singh (3200182-L) succumbed to his injuries while another injured army man Nk. Jitendra Singh (3200875-H) is hospitalized and is being treated. (KNS)
