Teachers Forum delegation calls on Education Minister

Discusses various issues


 Srinagar, Nov 08 (KNS): A high level delegation of teachers forum lead by Abdul Qayoom Wani, President EJAC/Chairman Teachers Forum accompanied by General Secretary Ganesh Khajuria, Surat Singh Toofani, Provincial President, Jammu, Darshan Sharma, District President, Jammu, Ravinder Singh, Yograj Salathia met Minister for Education Syed Altaf Bukhari at his official residence Jammu.
The delegation apprised the Minister about the problems and issues pertaining to the teaching fraternity like promotion of left out Masters of 2014 from Jammu division, pay anomaly of masters, regularization of in-charge officers & lecturers, service benefit and transfer policy for ReT’s and RRT’s, promotion of PG Teachers/Masters having distance mode degrees from recognized universities with practicals, confirmation of promoted masters in Kashmir division, transfer policy of teacher fraternity, inclusion of service to migrant substitute teachers.
Minimum Wages act in favour of contingent paid employees, immediate declaration of results from 1st to 8th standard in Kashmir division with timely distribution of textbooks and uniform, up-gradation of infrastructure of schools, filling up of all vacant posts of teachers, masters, head masters, ZEOs, Principals, CEOs and Joint Directors, Ban of induction of KAS officers as Joint Directors in the Education Department, Encouragement and Empowerment to the teaching fraternity and officers.
The Minister Education heard the delegation with patience and positive mindset and agreed all the above issues and demands in principle and assured the time bound redressal of these genuine issues at an earliest.
Bukhari as per the statement issued on spot instructions for redressal of the issue of left out masters of Jammu Division, promotion of PG Teachers & Masters with Distance Mode degrees from recognized universities, conformation of masters in Kashmir Division, removal of Pay anomaly and regularization of officers. Transfer policy of ReTs besides other issues. The Minister Education, Bukhari assured the delegation that redressal of all the pending issues of the teaching fraternity is our priority and the department of Education has started the work on war-footing basis for immediate redressal of genuine grievances of teaching fraternity and student community.
Wani thanked the Education Minister for his teacher and student friendly attitude and his seriousness for redressal of the grievances of the teaching fraternity in general and student community in particular.
Wani appreciated the Education Minister for his initiatives for the upliftment of education standard in the State. The delegation assured the Education Minister for their full support for the upliftment of Education standard in the state run schools. (KNS)
