Srinagar, Nov 15 (KNS): Sharply reacting to a news item appearing in social media regarding alleged court directions for registration of FIR against Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, a spokesperson of District Administraion in a statement issued to KNS has clarified that no such incident has happened as reported and details are being sought for necessary action.
However, as per statement of facts available with agencies it was reported that a person was doing a stunt on the road in a zigzag fashion blocking road for general public thereby denying them the right to free movement on the road. Further, such an activity had the impact of endangering the lives of commuters on the road in Shopian.
Upon noticing this strange behaviour the matter was reported to police. The said person in order to gain publicity has been hyphenating the episode with the name of Deputy Commissioner Shopian based on false allegations.
The Dy Commissioner has neither personally seen the complainant nor there is any substance in allegation of manhandling or assault. Terming the allegations as devoid of facts and substance the spokesperson of District Administration clarified that details of complaint are being sought for remedial legal action.
The spokesperson termed the allegations of snatching ATM Cards etc by such a senior officer as merely figment of imagination aimed at seeking cheap publicity.
He hoped that the Court must have taken on record some material facts or evidence which are being sought through the Counsel and matter will be taken up at the level of competent court if there is any authenticity in the news report. (KNS)
