G H Mir chairs party workers meet

Discusses present political situation


Srinagar, Nov 12 (KNS): Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir Sunday chaired party workers meet in Khoori Sheerabad area of Pattan.
The meeting discussed the current prevailing political situation in Kashmir.
According to KNS correspondent, the meeting also stressed upon strengthening the party. “We will launch a membership drive in the state,” Mir said while addressing the workers.
Mir also said that there is a need to upgrade the Kungundara receiving station. “The population has increased but the people are not getting adequate power. Keeping in view, the government must upgrade the receiving station,” he said.
He also said that the Ahmad Pora lift irrigation scheme which awaits completion should be completed immediately so that the people could heave a sigh of relief.
Mir also said that there is also a need to establish Tehsil office at Sheerabad.
The meeting further alleged that the developmental works are being done only to provide benefits to some blue eyed persons.
Others who spoke during the meeting were Muhammad Yousuf Ganie, Ghulam Muhammad Ganie, Adbul Salam Bhat, Ghulam Hassan Banka and Shabir Ahmad. (KNS)
