Dy Mayor injured after being assaulted during councilors session

Won’t succumb, will bulldoze BJP, assault on me was pre-planned: Sheikh Imran


Srinagar, Jan 21 (KNS): Deputy Mayor, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Sheikh Imran was on Monday after he was assaulted by the councilors during a councilor’s session in Srinagar.
The incident as per sources took place soon after the session begun at the SMC today.
A heated verbal argument started during the beginning of the session following which a councilor threw some object at Sheikh Imran, leaving him wounded.
Sheikh Imran was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Sheikh Imran said the assault on him is the outcome of the voice he has raised against BJP. “I believe it was all pre-planned as everything was done serial vise. Soon after the slogans agai9nst BJP reverberated during the session, some unknown object was thrown at me therefore leafing me grievously wounded,” he said.
“I have filed a written complaint in this regard and those involved must be dealt with strictly as per the law,” he added.
Sheikh Imran further stated that he will not succumb but will continue to raise voi8ce against the anti-people policies of BJP. “I won’t succumb as I have made my mind to bulldoze BJP,” he added.
Meanwhile, reports said that police has taken cognizance of the incident. (KNS)
