Seeks compensation, Govt. job for victim families of fake encounter in Shopian


Rajouri, Oct 09 (KNS): Seeking justice for the victims of fake encounter, a deputation of Apni Party’s district submitted a memorandum of demands to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha during his visit to Rajouri district and projected various other demands to the head of the administration in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We hailed Govt. decision to hand over bodies of three innocent young labourers who were killed in a fake encounter in Shopian. The fair investigation restored confidence of the people in the Govt. and in its justice system, but the justice to the victim families will not be completed until the accused are punished. The families of the victims should be duly compensated and each of the family members should be given a Govt. Job,” demanded the deputation.
Led by Advocate Sayeed Manzoor Bukhari, the Apni Party deputation submitted a memorandum of demands of the people from Darhal-Budhal assembly constituency to the LG of the Union Territory.
In memorandum, the Apni Party has demanded a Degree College for Peeri because students of this remote area have to either travel Rajouri or Koternaka to carry on their higher studies. Peeri area is the middle place of the area and it is approachable by the students from any part of this assembly constituency.
The deputation also demanded construction of Budhal - Shopain road and this road will provide connectivity to the people of Budhal and Mahore area of Reasi district, completion of road from Koteranka-Khawas requested as the work on the road started in previous Govt with the estimated cost of Rs 76.0 crore. The work on the road is stopped which should be started to complete the pending work.
Demand for Anas irrigation canal project was also raised by the Apni Party delegation, up-gradation of PHC Peeri and Medical Sub-Center Kotedhara was upgraded to CHC and PHC respectively was also raised.
They demanded employment packages for the youth and spot recruitment in police department through DGP J&K Police and sanction of SPO vacancies for Rajouri district. The Apni Party deputation appraised the LG that the area of Budhal, Darhal, Koternaka, Khawas, Prori, Peeri, Jamola, Kotedhara, Nagrota, Nadian, Planger etc have suffered a lot in militancy and thus it remain backward due to one or the other reason, having no industries or factories in the area in which youth can earn bread.
The demand for establishment of drugs de-addiction centers at Rajouri, promotion of unexplored Pir-Panjal, beautiful lakes and Shakar Marag Darhal and other places with regard to tourism in the district, and J&K Bank branches for Kotedhara, Prori and Jamola.
