Nazki’s contribution to society, literature, and languages will always be remembered: Altaf Bukhari

Srinagar, February 6 (KNS): Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, Vice President Zafar Manhas, Vice President Javaid Mustafa Mir, Chairman of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee Mohammad Dilawar Mir, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, and others have extended condolences over the passing away of renowned poet, broadcaster, and media personality Farooq Nazki, who breathed his last today at a hospital in Katra after a massive heart attack. Nazki was unwell for quite some time. Besides being a distinguished poet, broadcaster, and media personality, Nazki, a Sahitya Academy awardee, also served as a director of Doordarshan and All India Radio Srinagar during his lifetime.

Apni Party leaders, in their statements, have expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Nazki. They also extended condolences to his bereaved family. In his statement, the party president, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, said, “Today, we mourn the loss of Farooq Nazki Sahib, a true son of the soil. His legacy as a distinguished poet, broadcaster, and media personality will forever inspire, and his contribution towards society, literature, and the Kashmiri language will always be remembered. His passing is a profound loss to the overall society of Jammu and Kashmir.”

“May Almighty Allah grant him Jannah and his family the strength to endure this profound loss,” Mr. Bukhari prayed.(KNS)
