‘Raises demands of Baramulla District’

SRINAGAR, Sep 16:(KNS) An Apni Party delegation led by District President Baramulla Shoaib Lone on Thursday participated in a meeting called by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal at Dak Bunglow in Baramulla.

 

Besides Lone, the other delegation members included Apni Party District Youth President alongwith Party Youth leader & Chairman Municipal Council Baramulla Mudassir Tantray.

 

In a statement issued here, Lone said that Apni Party representatives demanded widening of Srinagar-Baramulla highway so that the problem of frequent traffic jams and consequent accidents are prevented.

 

‘The people travelling to-&-fro on Srinagar to Baramulla highway have to face excruciating traffic congestion on a daily basis. Most of their precious time gets consumed in frequent traffic jams. We requested the Hon’ble Union Minister to direct the concerned department for the widening of Srinagar-Baramulla highway into a four-lane road,” he said.

 

Lone said that there exists much potential in commencing a water transport facility from Sangam to Baramulla which will also help to lower the traffic congestion on roads.

 

He said that Apni Party delegates apprised the Union Minister about the presence of numerous unexplored medicinal herbs in district Baramulla which need to be benefited from under AYUSH. He said that such an initiative will also help to generate revenue for J&K.

 

Lone said that Hon’ble Minister patiently listened to their pressing pleas and ensured that apposite measures will be implemented with regards to the deliverance of these projects.(KNS)
