Apni Party conducts preparatory meeting for upcoming Panchayat, ULB polls

  Leaders deliberate on party affairs, formulate election campaign strategy

Srinagar, August 30(KNS): In preparation for the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) polls in Jammu and Kashmir, Apni Party’s Provincial President, Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, on Wednesday, presided over a significant meeting at the party headquarters at M2, Church Lane, in Srinagar. The meeting was attended by prominent party leaders, senior workers, and functionaries. They deliberated on various party-related matters and issues related to the upcoming Panchayat and ULB polls, a press statement issued here said.

 

Addressing the occasion, Mohammad Ashraf Mir urged the party functionaries to start preparations for the forthcoming Panchayat and ULB polls by enhancing their public outreach campaign in every nook and corner of the Valley. He emphasised, “It is imperative for all of us to gear up for the elections, thus, I urge you to intensify your political activities and public outreach to foster a strong connection with the grassroots masses, ensuring their understanding of the party’s pro-people agenda and policies.”

 

During the meeting, participants engaged in sharing and exchanging their views about the issues such as selection of the poll candidates and strategies to initiate poll campaign in various areas across the Valley. On this, the provincial president provided guidelines to the leaders and senior workers urging them to follow the directions of their respective district-level leaders while making arrangements for the upcoming polls.

 

On this occasion, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, a stalwart of the party and Vice President, advised the participants to ensure the public participation in the forthcoming democratic process. He remarked, “It is our responsibility to help people understand the power of their votes. Also, we must ensure that people realise that boycott politics has consistently harmed the core interests of the people and only aided political opportunists in gaining and retaining power.”
