Srinagar, Sept 06 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian organised its grand annual Majlis-e-Hussaini (AS) at Imambara Madin Sahib, Hawal, Srinagar, which was attended by a large gathering of mourners and devotees of Imam Hussain (AS).

Addressing the Majlis, General Secretary of the Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Hujjat-ul-Islam Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safavi, delivered a detailed discourse on the eternal message of Karbala, divine guidance, self-reformation, allegiance to the Wilayat of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and steadfastness in the cause of truth.

Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas said that true human success lies in receiving divine guidance and attaining the pleasure of Allah Almighty. He stressed that a person must constantly seek divine guidance to perform good deeds, refrain from wrongdoing and remain steadfast on the straight path. Mere good intentions, he said, are not sufficient; genuine success lies in translating those intentions into practice.

He observed that the tragedy of Ashura is not merely a historical event but an eternal charter for distinguishing truth from falsehood and for upholding reform, sacrifice, loyalty and steadfastness. Through his uprising, Imam Hussain (AS) conveyed to the Muslim Ummah that when truth is threatened by oppression and falsehood, a believer has a moral and religious duty to stand with truth and remain firm on principles, irrespective of the consequences.

Referring to the unparalleled loyalty of the companions of Imam Hussain (AS), Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas said the martyrs of Karbala honoured their covenant until their final moments and demonstrated that faith and Wilayat are not merely matters of verbal declaration, but demand practical loyalty when a person is confronted with trials and adversity. Karbala, he said, calls upon every individual, regardless of time and circumstances, to examine his or her faith, character, commitments and conduct.

Emphasising the true purpose of mourning, he said, Majalis-e-Aza should not remain confined to an expression of grief and sorrow; rather, they must become a means of self-reformation, intellectual awakening and adherence to the character and teachings of Imam Hussain (AS). He urged mourners to manifest their love for Imam Hussain (AS) through their worship, ethics, dealings and social conduct, and to mould their lives in accordance with the Holy Quran, the Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The General Secretary of the Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian also referred to the growing intellectual and moral deviations confronting society in the contemporary era. He cautioned that Satan employs various means to divert human beings from the straight path, making it imperative for believers to remain vigilant, conscious and discerning.

He stressed that allegiance to the Wilayat of Amir al-Mumineen Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib (AS) is a fundamental means of remaining steadfast on the straight path. A true follower of Wilayat, he said, is one who demonstrates his allegiance through conduct and action rather than merely through words.

Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas maintained that the School of Hussain (AS) does not teach silence in the face of oppression, tyranny, falsehood and deviation; rather, it teaches sacrifice and steadfastness in defence of truth, justice and principles. Referring to the worship, recitation of the Holy Quran and profound devotion to Allah displayed by Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions on the night of Ashura, he said the people of Karbala did not allow even the most difficult circumstances to weaken their relationship with their Creator. This, he added, remains an enduring practical example for the people of faith.

He said the message of Karbala needs to be understood and implemented with greater seriousness in the contemporary era. If Muslims make the Holy Quran, the Wilayat of Ahl al-Bayt (AS), piety, unity and steadfastness upon truth an integral part of their lives, he said, many of the intellectual, moral and social challenges confronting society can be effectively addressed.

He further emphasised that being Hussaini (AS) does not simply mean invoking the name of Imam Hussain (AS); it requires embracing his mission, character and principles. Every individual, he said, must regularly assess his or her actions and conduct and honestly determine the extent to which one's life reflects the message and values of the School of Hussain (AS).

The Majlis concluded with special prayers for the glory and well-being of Islam and Muslims, peace and security in Kashmir and across the world, unity among the Muslim Ummah, and elevation of the ranks of the martyrs of Karbala.(KNS)
