The proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Maulana Muhammad Jaffer. In his welcome address, Hujjat-ul-Islam Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safvi congratulated the office-bearers, workers, functionaries and volunteers of the organization for the successful conduct of the various religious programmes organized by the Anjuman during the holy month of Muharram, particularly the central Ashura processions in Srinagar and Budgam, the 25th Muharram Procession at Shalimar, the annual Majlis-e-Aza at Chadoora, and other religious gatherings across the Valley. He stated that the exemplary discipline, sincerity, dedication and spirit of service displayed by the volunteers were highly commendable and a matter of great pride for the organization. He expressed confidence that the organizational structure of the Anjuman would continue to discharge its responsibilities in future religious and community programmes with even greater commitment, unity and discipline.

 

The meeting resolved that, in keeping with the organization's long-standing tradition, special Majalis-e-Aza will be held across different parts of the Valley on the occasion of Arbaeen-e-Hussaini (AS). The central Arbaeen processions will be taken out from Zeldar Mohalla, Saida Kadal, Srinagar, and Astan Sharief, Budgam. Similarly, on 28 Safar al-Muzaffar, central Majalis-e-Aza will be organized, as in previous years, at the Qadeemi Imambara Hassanabad, Srinagar, and the Markazi Imambara Budgam. The programmes of Unity Week, commemorating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), will likewise be organized at their traditional venues, featuring a series of religious, scholarly and unity-oriented events.

 

In his presidential address, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi paid rich tributes to the tireless efforts, exemplary management and remarkable discipline demonstrated by the office-bearers, workers, functionaries and volunteers of the Anjuman throughout Muharram. Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi observed that the forthcoming observances of Arbaeen-e-Hussaini (AS), 28 Safar, and particularly the programmes of Unity Week, are not merely religious ceremonies but also provide a unique opportunity to strengthen the values of Muslim unity, fraternity, mutual respect and to promote the universal message of mercy and compassion brought by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He emphasized that at a time when the Muslim Ummah is confronted with numerous internal and external challenges, fostering sectarian harmony, mutual trust and Islamic unity has become more essential than ever before.

 

The President urged all office-bearers, workers and volunteers to ensure that the forthcoming programmes, especially the central Arbaeen processions and Unity Week celebrations, are organized with greater enthusiasm, superior planning and exemplary discipline. He further called upon them to reflect the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) and the noble Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through exemplary character, tolerance, humility and a strong sense of responsibility.

 

He also appealed to the general public, religious scholars, intellectuals, youth and Muslims belonging to all schools of thought to participate wholeheartedly in the Unity Week programmes and collectively strengthen the message of Muslim unity, inter-sect harmony and brotherhood. He observed that these values constitute the very essence of the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Ahlul Bayt (AS). Rather than allowing differences to create divisions, he stressed, the Muslim community must promote its shared Islamic values and common principles in order to build a peaceful, united and strong society.

 

The meeting concluded with special prayers for peace, stability and prosperity throughout the Muslim world. Special supplications were also offered for all oppressed and persecuted people across the globe, particularly those in Iran, Lebanon, Palestine and Gaza. The participants prayed that Almighty Allah grant the oppressed nations patience, steadfastness, dignity and honour; protect them from the tyranny and oppression of unjust and arrogant powers; accept their sacrifices; and bless them with His divine support, victory and ultimate success over the forces of falsehood and evil.

 

The meeting also reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Jammu & Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian to continue fulfilling its religious and moral responsibility by standing with the oppressed and raising its voice against injustice, tyranny and oppression wherever they may occur. (KNS)
