Agha Hassan expresses concern over ban on Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNS): Hundreds of workers and supporters of the organization led by Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Agha Syed Hassan Al-Mosavi Al-Safavi staged a protest after Friday prayers.

Expressing concern over severe lack of basic amenities like electricity, water, etc. in the district headquarter town of Budgam and adjoining areas, the people are facing various difficulties in this regard.

Demonstrators protested against the poor condition of electricity and water supply in the area.

On this occasion, Agha Hassan said that Budgam district has always been treated unfairly and given step motherly treatment. “The state administration has announced several projects on paper till date to address the backwardness of the district. But at last moment, all these development projects were shifted to other districts under one pretext or another. He said that the town Budgam, being the district headquarter, has been demanding the necessary facilities and infrastructure.  These projects and structures are being set up in other places of the district instead of the district headquarter.  The irony is that the situation in the district headquarter is very bad with regard to important facilities like electricity, water etc.  Stray dogs are being released from other locations in the district headquarter,” he said.

On this occasion, Agha Hassan expressed concern over the continuous ban on Friday and Jamaat and other important religious activities at the Central Jamia Masjid Srinagar and termed the government action as completely undemocratic and interference in the religious affairs. (KNS)
