Srinagar, Aug 04 (KNS): Anjuman Auqaf jamia Masjid said that Mirwaiz Mohammad Umar Farooq today completed 4 years for not being allowed to offer obligatory Friday prayers due  to his continued house detention.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Anjuman said that while all other religious activities are permitted and infact facilitated by the authorities it is openly discriminatory that he is barred from his duties.

The statement reads that despite repeated appeals from people, the authorities are unmoved and unconcerned.

Anjuman said that today on the occasion of Friday prayers people appealed to the authorities for his immediate the release. (KNS)
