ANC demands time-bound judicial enquiry into Shopian’s “staged” encounter

Srinagar, August 11 (KNS): Awami National Conference (ANC) on Tuesday demanded time-bound judicial enquiry into the “staged” Shopian encounter and insisted that the perpetrators of the crime should be arrested immediately.
ANC senior vice-president Muzaffar Shah while talking to KNS expressed shock over the killings of innocent laborers of Rajouri in a “staged” encounter by Army personnel in Amshipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on July 18.
He termed the incident “inhumane” and “barbaric” and demanded perpetrators of the crime should be arrested without any delay.
Demanding a time-bound Judicial enquiry into the incident, ANC vice-president said that the truth should be brought to fore within a short span of time as people of J&K are enough witness about probes ordered for such incidents in past.
“Several fake encounters happened in past and innocents lost their lives but the probe agencies failed to deliver justice so far”, he added.
He demanded that the Commanding Officer and his unit should be detained immediately and the said Company needs to be deported outside Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
