Amid spike in COVID-19 cases, wearing of face masks made mandatory in Baramulla and Kupwara districts

Srinagar, Jul 20 (KNS) : Amid rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, district administration Baramulla and Kupwara on Wednesday made wearing of face masks mandatory at all public places across the district in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases. 

According to an order, copies of which lies with the Kashmir News Service (KNS), stated that, various preventive measures are recommended by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India such as wearing of Face Masks, maintenance of social distance and hand sanitisation etc from time to time as effective means of COVID-19 containment.

It has become imperative to ensure strict implementation of all preventive measures such as wearing face masks and maintenance of social distance in all the public places /educational institutions within the districts of Baramula and Kupwara to prevent and minimize the spread of COvID-19 infections, it stated. 

"Therefore, in view of the above and in order to safeguard public health and wellbeing, wearing of face masks shall be compulsory at all public places/educational/technical institutions in district Baramulla and district Kupwara", it added. 

"All District/Sectoral officers/Heads of educational/technical institutions shall ensure wearing of face masks by all officers/officials students in the educational/ technical institutions" It reads further.(KNS)
