Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNS): Amid relaxation in shutdown, the markets across the Valley witnessed huge rush of shoppers on Saturday who were seen buying essentials in the markets throughout the day.
According to KNS correspondent, the markets in the Valley especially the commercial Hub Lal Chowk remained abuzz with the business.
“A huge rush of shoppers was seen in the Valley markets today. People thronged in the markets to buy essential commodities throughout the day,” witnesses said.
They said that the huge rush of shoppers in the markets forced the commuters to take alternate routes.
Witnesses said that the street vendors had also installed their stocks on the roadsides and were seen selling essential commodities and winter collections.
Notably, this is for the third successive weekend that life returned to normal following the relaxation in shutdown call given by the separatist leadership including Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwai9z Umar Farooq and JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik in their weekly protest program.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The markets including Jamia Masjid Market, commercial Hub Lal Chowk, Hari Singh High Street, Maharaja Bazar, Sarai Bala and others witnessed huge rush of shoppers.
Besides, the brisk movement of vehicular movement was witnessed in Srinagar areas.
Several areas also witnessed massive traffic jam throughout the day resulting in immense hardships to the commuters.
Pertinently, the Valley is witnessing uprising since July 08 of this year that triggered following the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani.
Notably, more than 90 people were killed while several thousands were maimed and blinded during the past five months of uprising in Kashmir. (KNS)
