Pahalgam, June 28 (KNS): Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) J&K Vijay Kumar on Wednesday visited Panjtarni to review the security measures in place for smooth and peaceful conduct of annual Amarnath Yatra 2023.
The Yatra is scheduled to start from July 01 and will continue till August 31. The J&K government has put in place foolproof security arrangements on twin routes of the Yatra - Anantnag and Ganderbal. The government has also deployed 60,000 additional troops this year to ensure incident-free pilgrimage.
ADGP J&K Vijay Kumar at the occasion reviewed security arrangements in place and interacted with other stakeholders. ADGP was accompanied by IG CRPF, IG BSF, 3 Sector Commander, SSP Anantnag and CO ITBP.
All officers also inspected track jointly between panjtarni and Holy Cave. (KNS)
