Srinagar, Jul 2 (KNS) : The All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association (AJKSA) thursday organised a full-day Majlis-e-Aza and Zuljanah Shareef procession at Shalimar to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.), his family, and his loyal companions in the tragedy of Karbala.
According to a press release issued here, The day’s mourning commenced with the recitation of Marsiya at Bagh-e-Zainab (S.A.), where mourners gathered from the early hours of the morning. The programme continued until 12:30 p.m., after which a Majlis-e-Aza was held at the residence of Ali Mohammed Khan, Shalimar.
The Majlis was addressed by Molvi Syed Taib Rizvi, who spoke in detail about the spiritual significance and immense rewards of the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.). He explained that visiting the shrine of Imam Hussain (A.S.) is not merely a physical journey but a renewal of one’s covenant with the ideals of truth, justice, sacrifice, and unwavering faith for which the Imam (A.S.) gave everything. He urged believers to keep the message of Karbala alive through faith, righteous conduct, and devotion to the Ahlul Bayt (A.S.).
Following the Majlis, the Zuljanah Shareef procession was taken out through the traditional route under the banner of the All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association. The procession was led by AJKSA General Secretary Abid Ansari, with thousands of mourners participating in an atmosphere of solemn remembrance, reciting elegies and paying tribute to the martyrs of Karbala.
The concluding Majlis-e-Aza was held at Bagh-e-Zainab (S.A.), where Molvi Syed Muzaffar delivered a powerful sermon on the everlasting message of Karbala. He reflected on the unparalleled sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.), the courage and steadfastness of Sayyida Zainab (S.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelA.), and the unwavering loyalty of the companions of the Imam (A.S.). He emphasised that Karbala remains an eternal lesson in resisting oppression, safeguarding truth, preserving human dignity, and remaining steadfast upon the path of Allah despite every trial.
As part of the day’s commemorations, Niyaz-e-Imam Hussain (A.S.) was also arranged by the All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association at Arabal, where devotees and mourners were served in the spirit of generosity and remembrance of the martyrs of Karbala.
On the occasion, AJKSA General Secretary Abid Ansari expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Srinagar District Administration for extending all necessary support to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the day’s programmes. He particularly thanked the team of SSP Srinagar Dr S Chakarvarthy, including SDPO Nehru Park Junaid, SHO Taseer, ZMO Zadibal Dr Rubeena, the Jal Shakti Department, JC Syed Abul Qasim and his whole SMC sanitation team, KPDCL, and all other departments and volunteers whose dedicated efforts contributed to the successful organisation of the Majlis-e-Aza and Zuljanah Shareef procession.
He also conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Management Committee of Bagh-e-Zainab (S.A.) for facilitating the smooth conduct of the programmes and for their wholehearted cooperation throughout the day.
He further thanked Ali Mohammed Khan, his family, and all the Momineen of Shalimar and Arabal whose dedicated arrangements, hospitality, and selfless service ensured that the Majalis, Zuljanah Shareef procession, and Niyaz-e-Imam Hussain (A.S.) were conducted in a befitting manner, reflecting the spirit of devotion and love for Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the Ahlul Bayt (A.S.).(KNS)
