Ahead of Eid-Ul-Adha, Baramulla admin constitutes market checking squads

Baramulla, July 02 (KNS): Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, administration in Baramulla district has constituted market checking squads to ensure no black marketing and availability of standard and quality essential commodities across different markets in the district. 

According to an order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) in order to put in place a proper mechanism to check the price, availability and quality and standard of different essential commodities indispensable for daily use, particularly on the eve of festivals, a Joint Marketing Squads consisting of District and Tehsil Level Monitoring Committees has been constituted.

The order stated that the committee shall visit markets regularly and impose fine and FIRS against the defaulters, wherever necessary, so that black marketing, hoarding and profiteering is controlled.

It added that those who are found guilty be strictly dealt with as per law so that the common people get commodities at genuine rates. 

It stated that Assistant Director FCS&CA will head the district level monitoring committee along with Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, DySP HQ Police, HQA to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and Executive Officer Municipal Council. 

As per the order the committee at tehsil level would be headed by Tehsildar, Tehsil Supply Officer, Station House Officer, Inspector Legal Metrology and Food Safety Inspector Baramulla. (KNS)
