Srinagar. July 22 (KNS) : The President of the Jammu & Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi, has expressed profound grief over the loss of precious lives and widespread destruction caused by incessant rains, flash floods and landslides across Jammu & Kashmir.

He expressed heartfelt condolences over the tragic death of a newly married youth from Beerwah, Budgam, who was swept away by floodwaters and whose body was recovered after an overnight search in Khag. He also mourned the loss of seven members of a family in a rain-triggered landslide in Poonch and expressed solidarity with all those affected in Poonch and Rajouri, where heavy rains have caused extensive devastation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi voiced serious concern over the large-scale damage to residential houses, orchards, agricultural land and public infrastructure in Beerwah, as well as the destruction witnessed in Poonch and Rajouri. He urged the Government to undertake an immediate assessment of losses, ensure adequate compensation, and expedite relief and rehabilitation measures for all affected families.

Expressing concern over widespread waterlogging in Srinagar, he said the recurring flooding underscores the urgent need to strengthen the city's drainage infrastructure and disaster preparedness to safeguard lives and property during extreme weather events.(KNS)
