After spending lacs, authorities fail to make borewell functional in Handwara

Handwara, Aug 23 (KNS): Residents of Sarmag in Rajwar area of Handwara in north Kashmir on Saturday expressed strong anger against the authorities for failing to make the bore well functional in the area.

The residents told KNS that the approximate cost of the bore well was 70 lakhs but despite spending huge amount of money for its construction well but despite passing several years it has not been made functional leaving large number of people to suffer.

The residents also said that the bore well was jointly constructed by Jal Shakti Department, Mechanical Department and Grounder Water Department and now has been left without completion of work.

They added the bore well is defunct since it was constructed and said that generator was also not installed, the resident has raised a question and said what is the fun for spending more money on the construction of borewell, the money could have been used in other developmental works in the area.

The residents appealed authorities to intervene into the matter at the earliest so that the people of the area will not suffer.

However when KNS tried to contact the concerned officials they could not respond despite many attempts. (KNS)
